I agree with almost everything you said, although I consider that black furniture is more than a trend and it's here to stay

Good informartion. One other important thing to keep in mind with walls is art. Photos in particular are a great way to add character. The right art can really dress up an otherwise dull livingroom, or drab bathroom or kitchen. The Bammstarr website at www.starrwriter.com has some great pieces at very affordable prices.

Great point...and green design can be a wonderful marriage of timeless and trendy. Green is forward thinking, creative and trendy, bringing in new materials and new ways of expressing our care and concern for the flora and fauna we share this extraordinary planet with. And green is timeless by virtue of the emphasis on organic materials, sustainably harvested and left in their natural state as much as fashion will allow. Take a look at this timeless green beauty, for example:
http://www.vermontwoods.com/products/Daniel/DanielsDemiConsole.html
It has been lovingly crafted out of a natural tree burl, with a minimum of processing. The trend here is to leave nature intact embellishing it with the timeless artisanry of a centuries old hand-carved floral motif. Timeless and trendy...go Green!
