As we wrote previously in our article about White Christmas Decoration, this theme can be executed in a modern or classic way. It’s a beautiful scheme that can be combined with the elegant or trendy themes. This post is to show how to achieve the look.
White can be cold and frosty - but these qualities are perfect to create a Christmassy feel. You just have to be careful to use textures and textiles that can add some warmth - for example mix frosty glass baubles with fluffy ones, such as these:

Baubles and other decorative items are not only for the tree. Hang them from the ceiling or in your windows or from the picture rail, to create an interesting display - make sure you hang each at different heights (using fishing line) to create a more interesting effect. Use fluffy, satin or glass baubles together with glass, pearl and plastic icicles, stars, snowflakes, tears and so on. Here are a few examples:

The wreaths and garlands are also white - made of “frosted glass” bits, glass beads and pearls. These are suitable ones:

Your tree should be simple. You can now buy a colored tree - if you buy a white one, make sure your decoration is not completely white - use transparent, ice-blue and silver decorations or get a pre-lit one that changes colour. Of course a real tree can also be decorated to suit this look. For a modern look use a fibre-optic twig tree. Here are a couple of examples:

When it comes to lighting, use lots of candles and fairy-lights made of pearls, snowballs, icicles. Again, be creative! Don’t use them just on your tree - for example use them as a table runner; wrap them around a large glass bowl (or just put inside it); run them around mantels & shelves; hang them in your window (but try not to wrap the windows with string lights - that’s a bit tacky!)

Finally, your Christmas dining table. Keep with the white theme - use white and silver table linen; glass or crystal glassware; silver cutlery; silver or glass candle holders. For simple elegance just wrap a few beads around some candles and place a glass bowl containing some glass drops, pearls or baubles in the middle of the table.

Have a lovely white Christmas!
